This policy should be read with the product description, Product Disclaimer, Terms and Conditions, Cancellation Returns Exchanges and Refunds Policy, Shipping and Delivery Policy, and Grievance Redressal Policy.
Product nature
Yamuna Jewels primarily sells premium imitation and fashion jewellery. Our core cubic zirconia necklace sets generally use a brass base, a rhodium-colour or silver-tone plated finish, and cubic zirconia stones. Cubic zirconia is a manufactured diamond simulant and is not a natural or laboratory-grown diamond.
Plated fashion jewellery is not permanent in the same way as solid precious metal. Its appearance and finish depend on wear, skin chemistry, climate, care, storage and exposure to moisture, sweat, perfume, cosmetics, chemicals, friction and heat.
Warranty period
The voluntary Yamuna Jewels warranty begins on the recorded delivery date and continues for 12 months. The claim must be submitted within that period. Proof of purchase or sufficient order information is required so that we can identify the product and delivery date.
The warranty applies to the original purchaser and to a genuine gift recipient who can provide the order details. It is additional to mandatory rights under applicable consumer law and does not replace the separate three-day voluntary return offer.
What the warranty covers
Subject to inspection and the care conditions below, the warranty covers a verified manufacturing or workmanship defect that becomes apparent during normal intended use. Examples may include a fault in assembly, clasp, connector, chain attachment or stone setting that was not caused by impact, pulling, bending, misuse or unauthorised work.
A loose or missing stone may be covered when inspection indicates that it resulted from a setting or manufacturing defect during normal use. Availability of an identical replacement stone, part or finish may depend on stock and production changes.
The warranty also permits assessment of unusual or premature deterioration of the rhodium-colour or silver-tone finish despite normal use and compliance with the stated care instructions. Coverage does not mean that plated jewellery is guaranteed to remain visually unchanged for 12 months under all conditions.
What the warranty does not cover
The voluntary warranty does not cover ordinary wear and ageing, including gradual fading, dullness, minor surface scratches, loss of shine or wear at contact points that is consistent with the product type and pattern of use.
It does not cover damage or finish deterioration caused by water, sweat, perfume, hairspray, cosmetics, lotion, chlorine, salt, cleaning chemicals, toothpaste, abrasive material, excessive heat, humidity, improper storage, impact, crushing, snagging, pulling, bending, stretching, dropping or use outside the product’s intended purpose.
It does not cover loss, theft, missing components after delivery, customer alteration, resizing, repair or replating by another person, or damage arising from an unauthorised modification. A customer-caused issue in one part does not automatically exclude an unrelated manufacturing defect in another part.
Individual skin sensitivity is not treated as a manufacturing defect. A product is not represented as hypoallergenic or suitable for every wearer unless the specific product page expressly states that claim.
Jewellery care instructions
Apply perfume, hairspray, lotion and cosmetics before wearing the jewellery and allow them to dry. Avoid direct contact with water, sweat, chlorine, salt, household chemicals and abrasive surfaces. Remove jewellery before bathing, swimming, exercise, sleeping or household work.
After use, wipe the product gently with a clean, soft and dry cloth. Do not use toothpaste, harsh metal polish, ultrasonic cleaning, abrasive cloths or unapproved chemicals.
Store each item separately in a clean, dry polythene pouch or airtight pouch. Do not store the jewellery in a damp place or directly in a velvet box that may retain moisture. Keep chains and adjustable components untangled and protect stones from pressure and impact.
Following these instructions helps preserve the product but does not make plated fashion jewellery waterproof, scratch-proof or permanent.
How to make a warranty claim
Contact us within the warranty period and provide the order number, purchaser name, contact details, product name, a clear description of the issue, when it was first noticed, and available photographs or video. Do not send the product until we provide an inspection authorisation and return address.
We acknowledge a consumer complaint within 48 hours. After receiving sufficient information, we will communicate whether photographs are sufficient for an initial decision or physical inspection is required. A final coverage decision may depend on inspection of the product.
Authorisation to send an item confirms only that it may be inspected. It does not guarantee coverage before inspection. If a claim is declined or only partly accepted, we explain the reason and allow the customer to respond with relevant information.
Inspection and warranty remedy
We assess the product condition, reported issue, available evidence and reasonable signs of use. For a covered defect, we may repair the item, replace a stone or component, replate it, replace the product, or provide another remedy required by law. A covered warranty repair has no service fee.
If an identical part or product is unavailable, we discuss a reasonably comparable option before proceeding and do not silently substitute a materially different item. If an eligible defect cannot be reasonably repaired or replaced, any applicable refund or further remedy is handled under the Cancellation Returns Exchanges and Refunds Policy and applicable law.
We communicate the estimated service time after inspection. No chargeable work is undertaken without the customer’s agreement, and an eligible refund is not forced into store credit.
Repair and customisation charges
Minor repairs and small adjustments have no service fee. Examples may include a simple tightening or minor fitting correction where no substantial part replacement or reconstruction is required.
A major repair, substantial reconstruction, replacement required because of customer-caused damage, or customisation requested after purchase may carry a nominal or quoted service fee. We provide the proposed work and charge for approval before proceeding.
Paid customisation is performed according to the specification confirmed for that service. A completed customisation is not returnable merely because of a change of mind, without limiting a remedy for incorrect or defective work.
Courier costs and shipping
For warranty inspection, repair, replating or post-purchase customisation, the customer arranges and pays courier costs to send the product to Yamuna Jewels and to receive it back. Use secure packaging and a trackable service, and retain the receipt and tracking details.
International customers are also responsible for applicable courier, customs and clearance arrangements for a service shipment unless agreed otherwise in writing. Follow the shipping and customs instructions we provide.
This customer-paid service arrangement does not apply where Yamuna Jewels has separately approved a company-paid return for a product delivered damaged, defective, incorrect or misdescribed, or where applicable law requires Yamuna Jewels to bear the cost.
Consumer rights and complaints
This voluntary warranty does not exclude or limit a mandatory remedy for defective, deficient, spurious, unsafe, misdescribed or incorrectly supplied goods. A customer may rely on applicable consumer rights even when the issue falls outside this voluntary warranty or appears after the warranty period.
Escalate an unresolved claim to Gopal Shankarlal Shah, Grievance Officer, at yamunajewels.com@gmail.com, +91 98981 65411, or Near Balaji Temple, Ghee Kanta Tower Road, Ravopura, Vadodara, Gujarat 390001, India. Consumer grievances are acknowledged within 48 hours and redressed within one month under our Grievance Redressal Policy.
We may update this policy when products, service processes or applicable requirements change. The revised policy will be posted with a new effective date. The warranty communicated when a product was purchased continues to apply to that product unless a change is required by law or is more favourable to the customer.
